Filling the gap isn’t it good With elaborate friends or run of the mill Soak up some trees or climb in a bath The oxygen is necessary Fill up your lungs, clear out your mind There’s not enough space, nor enough time Operate on maximum drive Collaborate with many like minds How nice it would be to be complete as one How nice it would be to be complete as one How nice it would be to be complete as one How nice it would be to be complete as one Escape holidays and run to the crowd The buzz that you get is not very loud When nobody sings the same kind of songs You already know you won’t get along Fighting the urge for trash on the tube You hear it’s not good for people like you So squeeze all you’ve got and gift it away Chew paper and gold, it’s gone the next day How nice it would be to be complete as one How nice it would be to be complete as one How nice it would be to be complete as one How nice it would be to be complete as .. One of these days we won’t feel the sun Then there won’t be a reason to run Why do we reach outside Inside craves just to hide Crawl by crawl to the top Only go never stop

Who we are, from where do we come? We're nightbirds in old Sydney town Up late with our heads spinning round

Say we watch the moon tonight Brighter than it’s ever been A beacon shared by all who live Upon these open skins Exposed to wind and weathering Elements rage free Anchor momentarily To let the others in In and out of clothes we wear Shows personality And perseverance with our hair Important on high seas Searching past the strongest bough To where soft ripples lie Hold our hands upon our helms And steer firmly too admire The complex ships in the night, passing by The complex ships in the night, passing by The complex ships in the night, passing by The complex ships in the night Just passing by, by, by, by, by, by… By and by these bodies pass Adorned in pretty things Sun reflects upon their skin distracting cormorants And masts hold strong against this current tide of what’s to be Anchor momentarily To try local delicacies We’re complex ships in the night, passing by We’re complex ships in the night, passing by We’re complex ships in the night, passing by We’re complex ships in the night, Just passing by, by, by, by, by, by… We’re not empty, we’re not empty, we’re not empty vessels.

Faces 04:59
Saw faces in the news today, Bright alight in ink They talked about them one by one Best qualities in print Out there for the world to see What special faces they had been Saw faces on the news today Faces now all passed away Saw faces on the news today Immortalized in print They couldn’t tell us any names Nor how their lives were spent Out there for the world to see How unimportant faces bleed Saw faces in the news today Million more are on their way Saw faces in the news today.

Golden Light drench the wall now Golden light fill my gaze Cinnamon sky, sprinkling shards Of honey dipped rays to amaze me You amaze me Golden light drench my mind now Golden light fill my eyes Crimson sky guide your warm hands To brown the comfortable skin I’m in And you amaze me All is calm and I am still All is calm and I am still Waiting on you to wake me, wake me, wake me Golden light, drench this place now Golden light, fill my mind Sweet mellow sky, guide my thoughts pure With your honey dipped rays.

Here, the rain it comes to meet me It wants to tell me secrets from the sky. How I want to feel it touch me on the shoulders Gently telling time Wait - it says go slow I’ll help things grow Just plant a seed Feel the rain Hear it fall Watch the ground Slowly drink more Simple things Water brings To us all We’re ready for the storm clouds We want to feel them Raining on us now High above the stars are glinting To me they’re hinting at better times ahead I hear sounds of night time creatures Songs of being ready for this world Where the trees are bright The bark is white They started as a seed Feel the rain…

Nick of Time 05:39
We made it in the Nick of Time Your silver hair might shine the way it’s s’posed to Counting time by colour ain’t fair anyway So anyway you like it You won’t know till you’ve tried it And once you’ve tied it down it just won’t stay So count the clouds and let the wild things stray I’d be hoping for a time Where almonds won’t be costing and arm and a leg Plenty of legs to stand on anyway So anyone will tell you Got so many chairs to choose from But the nicest one is in your own backyard So count the clouds at home with more regard I made it just with time to spare With spare parts hanging on like ancient rules Living life by outdated runes can’t keep you whole We’ll feel a hole inside us Keep plugging trying to find it And once you’ve found the thing it just won’t stray So count your friends and let the wild ones stay

about

The glee of being on the road again, the thrum of technological addiction, the joy of rain, the pain of watching the suffering of others - worthy of so much more. The true understanding of belonging, home and friendship.

Born of 2020 dreams, stoked by the gilded hopes of creation above all through 2021 and released with the heaviness of the last 2 long years of the Covid pandemic in 2022.

I think 'Upon These Open Skins', despite all the above, may still be somehow relevant. May it strike something deep inside you.
